Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education
The quality of education is maintained through repeated evaluations performed by the National Council for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation, the activity of which is regulated by the Parliament. Accreditation of higher education institutions
in Romania is a two-phase procedure:
In the first phase, the higher education institution puts in application for authorization for temporary operation.
In the second phase, when the institution is given the temporary authorization to carry out educational activities, they can conduct entrance examinations and register students. After three generations of their pupils have passed out from the institution, the institutions can apply for accreditation. Accredited higher education institutions can conduct graduation examinations and can issue diplomas that are certified by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports.

It also provides the Ministry of Education the strategies and policies of improving the quality of higher education in the country.
